A POPULAR milkshake shop in Bournemouth town centre has closed its doors.
Shakeaway, in Post Office Road, shut its doors this month.
The signage has been removed and the windows painted over.
A notice on the door of the branch says: “Dear customer, we are sad to say that this store is now closed.
“We are relocating to a bigger store in the near future.
“We will announce the new location on our Facebook account nearer the time.”
No further details about where the shop would be relocating were provided.
The notice continued: “We wish you and your families a fantastic Xmas and we will see you in the new year.”
The notice was also posted on the Shakeaway Bournemouth Facebook page where customers expressed their sadness at the announcement.
One person said: "NOOOOOO!!! But it’s the OG isn’t it?!!!! I was literally planning a pilgrimage to Bournemouth for this very reason - not even kidding!”
Another person said: “So sad, I remember it's predecessor, Legends, along by the Town Hall. Such a fab place, so great when Shake Away then began. I hope it's not too long before your new Bournemouth shop opens."
Shakeaway is described as the "world's largest milkshake bar company" and was established in 1999.
