Man jailed after messaging three underage girls on social media
A MAN has been jailed after being caught messaging three girls under the age of 16 on social media.
Ian Coffin, 48 and of Furzehill in Chard, was subject to a sexual harm prevention order at the time of the offence.
It was said between February 21, 2023 and March 4, 2023, Coffin attempted to contact three girls under the age of 16 on Facebook.
The defendant was prohibited from doing this by a sexual harm prevention order made by Bournemouth Crown Court on November 11, 2023.
Coffin was jailed for six months because of the seriousness of the offence and because of his previous record.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154.
