SOUTHAMPTON-based estate agent have been instructed to market Christchurch civic offices for BCP Council.

CBRE Southampton will help sell the circa 29,600 sq ft, three-storey building sitting on a 1.66-acre site near the town centre.

While the sale doesn’t include Bridge Street Car Park, public toilets and the public right-of-way to the west of the centre, it does come with Leisure Centre Car Park West.

The civic office was formally closed to the public and staff in December 2021 as part of the authority's goals to bring its services together.

It had previously stood as the head office for the now-defunct Christchurch and East Dorset Council, which ceased when Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole merged in April 2019.

Alex Davies, director at CBRE Southampton, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to reimagine a prime waterfront location in the heart of Christchurch.

“The size and location of the site could suit a wide range of different uses - subject to planning – and makes it an attractive prospect for investors and developers.”
