AIRLINER Jet2 landed for what is believed to be the first time at Bournemouth Airport on Friday evening ahead of its official launch in February.
The Boeing 737 plane landed at Hurn at around 5.30pm on November 29 having left Birmingham Airport earlier that evening.
Jet2’s first flight from Bournemouth Airport with holidaymakers will be on February 4 – a date brought forward from the initial April 1 because of strong demand.
From February, holidaymakers can now enjoy some winter sun in the Canary Islands, starting with three weekly services to Tenerife flying on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Twice weekly services on Mondays and Thursdays will be flying to Lanzarote from February 6 and weekly Sunday flights to Gran Canaria will take off from February 9.
In the first summer of operations from Bournemouth Airport, Jet2 will fly to 16 destinations across the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey, Greece, mainland Spain, Portugal and Madeira.
Two aeroplanes will be based at Hurn to fly 27 weekly flights from the airport, along with Ryanair and TUI.
Since announcing the launch of flights and holidays back in March this year, Jet2 has reported strong demand and continued excitement from customers and independent travel agents.
