A RAPE arrest was made over the weekend after an “attack” in Bournemouth

A woman had reportedly been raped in the area of Christchurch Road near to the junction of Ashley Road, Boscombe, at around 7am on Saturday, November 30. 

Officers arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of rape and has now been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out. 

Dorset Police officials have said it is believed the pair are known to each other. 

A flat in Christchurch Road next to Mello Mello Bar was cordoned off on Saturday with forensic examiners seen inside the flat.

Detective inspector Darren Moores, of BCP criminal investigations department, said he is looking to find a dogwalker in the area of the alleged attack at the time. 

He said: “We are conducting enquiries into this incident as we seek to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and we are appealing for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.  

“In particular, from our enquiries we understand a man was seen walking his dog in the area around the relevant time and we would be keen to speak to this individual as a witness, as they may have information to assist our enquiries.” 

Specialist officers are supporting the victim.
