A DRIVER was arrested and faces disqualification from driving after a member of the public reported them for swerving on the road and suspected drink driving.
The incident occurred on December 1, when Dorset Police received a report of a driver “swerving all over the road” at 4.58pm.
Officers were given the vehicle's location and details and located the driver by 5.17pm.
The driver failed a roadside breath test and was arrested. At the police station, they provided a further sample showing they were three times over the legal limit.
The individual was held in custody until being charged with drink driving. They have been bailed to appear in court.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Thanks to a member of the public reporting this as a suspected drink driver, a potentially dangerous driver who could have seriously injured or even killed themselves or another person was taken off our roads within 19 minutes.
"They will now face a driving disqualification and a fine.”
