A MUM said she found what she believes to be a chicken’s claw in her a takeaway.

“I felt disgusted,” said Leana Ryal from Bournemouth. “I had to clean my teeth and use loads of mouthwash.

“I was sick a couple of times but I think that was a psychological reaction.

“I can only see two nails on it. I don’t know whether I’ve eaten a bit.”

The 25-year-old from Dean Park ordered the food from the Holdenhurst Road branch of the Dorset chain California Fried Chicken.

She put the suspected claw in the freezer and is going to contact the council’s Environmental Health department.

Leana said: “It looked fine and I’ve had takeaways from there many times and never had a problem.

“But I bit down on something hard. It felt like a tooth or a bit of bone.

“I put it about two feet from my face and said ‘is that what I think it is’? My sister Nicola said ‘oh my God’.

“It’s completely put me off food. I’ve lost about half a stone. I’m inspecting everything I eat.”

Brian Utting, principal environmental health officer at Bournemouth council, said: “California Fried Chicken has a good food safety record and is not due for inspection until next year.

“Any complaint received in relation to a food premises is always investigated and followed up by Environmental Health Services.”

California Fried Chicken did not return several phone calls for comment from the management.
