A WORRIED shop worker has appealed for help after a rare parrot escaped this morning.
The bright green bird squeezed through a tiny gap while his food was being changed and made a bid for freedom from Tropical Fish World in Boscombe.
Now Chris Walsh has asked members of the public to look out for the hand-reared bird in the hope that he can tempt him back to the Christchurch Road shop.
“He flew straight out of the door at about 11am and no one has seen him since” said Chris. “He has been at the shop for about two months but he doesn’t have a name because we didn’t want to get too attached to him.”
Chris urged anyone who sees him not to try and catch him because: “He’ll probably get very frightened – it would be best if we are contacted.”
The bird, which is around 15 inches tall, may still be close to the shop, on the main street on the Bournemouth side of the pedestrian precinct.
Chris can be contacted on 01202 303337 or 07814-570181.
