CAMPING tickets for the second Camp Bestival music festival in Purbeck have almost sold out.
Organisers said there were less than 500 still for sale before the weekend and are urging locals to get in quick.
Last year the festival sold out a week before it began, but this year it looks like all tickets will go earlier than that.
The family-orientated festival is set to be bigger and better than last year’s inaugural shindig, with a host of top acts – from musicians to comedians to chefs – at Lulworth Castle on July 24-26.
The latest confirmed name is Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall, of River Cottage fame, who will be running food workshops.
Among the musical highlights are PJ Harvey – making her only UK festival appearance – Will Young, Chic, Candi Staton, newcomers Florence and the Machine and Mercury Rev.
Revellers are also set for a stunning final, said a spokesman: “After Chic’s performance on the Main Stage on Sunday night, the English National Ballet will perform a contemporary dance to (curator) Rob da Bank’s DJ set.
“This piece segues into a choreographed light and firework spectacular using Lulworth Castle as its centrepiece, with fireworks being launched from behind and on top of the building.”
Organisers urge anyone wanting a camping ticket to buy soon. Prices are £130 for adults, £100 for students and £65 ages 13-15, while 12s and under go free. Once the camping tickets are gone, day and non-camping tickets will still be available.
