JIM FINNEY'S “house from hell” in Broadstone was finally reduced to rubble on Wednesday.
Demolition began on the Clarendon Road property, which was turned into a derelict junkyard by previous occupant, Mr Finney.
The house was deemed unsalvageable following Mr Finney’s eviction in March, with walls, floors and ceilings all in an unsafe state.
It is being torn down, to be replaced with a new-build property courtesy of the site’s new owners, Dorset Construction.
The sale of the house saw Poole council recoup all the costs of two huge clear-up operations at the house and unpaid council tax.
The figure is thought to total around £40,000.
Andy Dearing, council planning enforcement officer, said: “Had Mr Finney complied with our requests and been a good neighbour this could have all been avoided.”
Neighbours of the house in Clarendon Road had long despaired of ever having the house in a respectable state, with piles of rubbish building up almost as soon as they had been removed.
