Forget knobbly knees and Goodnight Campers. The Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) and his sidekick Mel (Bonnie Langford) have far more serious things on their minds when they pitch up at a 1950s holiday camp in this spirited adventure from 1987.
Merciless Gavrok has tracked down the Chimeron Queen, who has fled from her doomed planet with the egg which represents the future of her race.
Although it all gets rather silly, this three-parter benefits from an inventive script and packs in plenty of plus points. These include cameo appearances by Ken Dodd, Stubby Kaye and Hugh Lloyd. Be warned though – Bonnie is the possessor of the shrillest squeal in the universe.
