POLICE investigating a New Forest road crash that claimed the life of a Bournemouth man are appealing for information about a second car which may have been in the area at the time.
John Anthony Hill-Cousins, 39, of Barnes Close, Bournemouth, died at the scene when the black Honda Civic he was driving hit the low brick wall supporting the bridge carrying the A35 over the C10 road at Holmsley.
The Honda was badly crushed and on its side after the crash in the early hours of Thursday, June 11.
Firefighters from Burley were called to remove Mr Hill-Cousins from the wreckage.
Now police officers investigating the crash want to hear from anyone who saw an old style red Ford Focus being driven in Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, Sway or on the A35, or who saw it parked in a layby.
Officers say “the car may have been driven erratically”.
At midnight on June 11, soon after police discovered the smashed Honda, a taxi driver found the Focus crashed in the ditch near New Park Hotel near Brockenhurst.
Anyone with information should call Totton Roads Policing Unit on 0845 045 4545.
