Nigel Bryant, field technician and diver with Bournemouth University's archaeology department filmed a pod of around a dozen dolphins while accompanying a group of students on a dive on the Swash Channel Wreck outside Poole Harbour.
He filmed them for more than an hour on June 16 from diveboat Natwest 2 as they moved up the Swash channel and back again "fishing and just messing about" totally unfazed by the divers and boats in the area.
He said: "I've seen one or two before - but I've never seen so many together.
"It was something of the trip of a lifetime - especially for the students- diving on a world class wreck with dolphins - and in British waters as well."
