Wittdo (What Is There To Do?), a not-for-profit social enterprise, is launching a comprehensive "things to do" listings service, that will not only help consumers find and have better experiences more often, but will also be a source of valuable insights to the local tourism and leisure industry as to what consumers are searching for in their area.
The Shadow Minister for Tourism, Bournemouth East MP Tobias Ellwood, said "Wittdo is an extremely innovative enterprise providing wide-ranging information to local authorities and businesses. This information will make their job much simpler when it comes to locating leisure activities in their local area. Wittdo is unique and the information it provides is vital for those trying to grow the local tourism industry. I think it is an excellent venture."
Based in the South West, Wittdo won the British Chamber of Commerce Most Promising New Business award and prize for Best Start-Up sponsored by SWRDA. Wittdo founder Chris Jenkins, 29, formerly a manager at the Bournemouth International Centre, said "Wittdo aims to help consumers spend less time searching and more time doing. Providing the best information available to consumers is essential to enable them to make the best choices, but learning from what customers are telling us is the key to industry growth, Wittdo addresses both."
Wittdo is available to local authorities and businesses across Dorset and Hampshire now, and is available nationwide from July. Subscribing businesses can provide their customers with unlimited access to the listings service via their own websites from as little as £2.50 a week. Local businesses that are interested in the Wittdo service for their town can register their interest by visiting the website, www.Wittdo.com.
