BIG Issue sellers in Bournemouth have been provided with fluorescent jackets in a bid to reduce antisocial behaviour by rogue vendors.
The move follows complaints from the public reporting that some sellers had been aggressive, threatening and under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
An investigation by Bournemouth central safer neighbourhood officers found that the majority of complaints involved rogue sellers.
From this week legitimate sellers will be wearing distinctive red and green jackets similar to those used in other parts of the country.
They will also display an identity badge, unique number and the telephone number of the Bournemouth Big Issue branch.
