THE uncensored expenses files of Dorset and New Forest MPs yesterday started being uploaded to the Daily Telegraph website.

The newspaper took the move after the House of Commons decided to release only heavily edited paperwork.

Files uploaded so far are a selection of documents that have already been turned into stories by the Telegraph.

In one, Bournemouth West MP Sir John Butterfill’s refers to his “staff annexe”.

He agreed to pay back more than £20,000 claimed on the servants’ quarters of his six-bedroom house in Surrey.

His claim was named the 10th most notorious by the Telegraph in a weekend supplement.

There are 28 documents on Jim Knight, Labour MP for South Dorset, whose tax advice claims came under the spotlight, but none yet for Bob Walter, North Dorset, whose claims included a £700 week-long French language course in Bordeaux.

Only a few documents are up yet for Tobias Ellwood, Bournemouth East; Desmond Swayne, New Forest West; and Robert Syms, Poole.

No files were yesterday uploaded for Annette Brooke, Mid Dorset and North Poole, and Christchurch’s Christopher Chope.

The Telegraph said it is “committed to publishing the full files for every single MP over the coming weeks”.
