HARRY Potter soundman Jon Hardy is among the judges at the One Voice film festival at Bournemouth’s Odeon cinema on Sunday.
The first festival of its kind to celebrate films made by local under-25s, the programme includes The Daemon Drink, a short which won Best Film at the recent MTV Boom Awards in London.
Another highlight is Freddie, a loving documentary about an 87-year-old Bournemouth man who displays his impressive skills with a zimmer-frame and his insightful thoughts on what it’s like to grow old alone.
Project worker Angela Reece thinks One Voice is the start of more to come.
“Young people have been asking for this for a long time. The quality of the films in this premiere show that Bournemouth’s youth have got a lot of positive things to say and it’s great that they want to use media technology to creatively convey their thoughts,” she said.
Other judges include Odeon director Spencer Clark and Daily Echo editor-in-chief Neal Butterworth.
Free tickets for the screening are available on 07827 848480.
