HOPE FM, Bournemouth’s community Christian radio station, has been celebrating its second birthday and as part of the celebrations it is holding an evening of music with well-known Bournemouth Christian bands Bosh and Audio1.
Many of the 45 volunteer presenters will be on hand to meet listeners face to face during the evening.
Among them, the presenters have conducted over 2,000 interviews in the studio and participated in several outside broadcasts, most recently in Bournemouth town centre.
Station manager Kevin Potter told me: “Over the past couple of years we have sought to be vibrant, relevant and unique. “When listeners tune in to Hope, they find us engaging with the community.
“We provide a voice to community groups, charities, churches, the borough councils and businesses.
“Although we are a community radio station, we have favourable comments from as far afield as Canada, the USA and Sweden because we are also streaming over the internet, amazingly developing a strong fan base across the world.
“This makes us very proud because it proves that Hope FM can hold its own against a plethora of professional, much bigger stations.”
l Hope FM will host “An audience with Bosh” on Sunday, July 5, at The Bourne Beat Hotel in Priory Road, Westcliff, starting at 7pm. Tickets are available in advance from Keith Jones Christian Book Shop for £3, or on the door for £4.
