IN the world of criminal psychology, there’s a school of thought that those who torture and kill animals sometimes graduate to doing the same to people.
If that is case – and there is some historical evidence, especially in America, to back up the theory, then we should all worry about what’s going on in Rossmore and Alderney at the moment.
Some sections of the community are being terrorised after a series of incidents recently, including the mutilation of rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and cats.
Following a neighbourhood meeting on Thursday, CCTV is being considered for the area as police and the RSPCA try to get to grips with the situation.
The Rossmore/Alderney area has had its fair share of social and anti social problems but these latest developments seem to be taking things to a more sinister and disturbing level.
But of course it’s not just in this small part of Poole that shocking events like these have been happening, as readers of this paper will be very well aware.
Any resident who knows anything – or thinks they might, about who is behind these acts should do their bit to help get the culprits caught.
