A WOMAN called Emma has contacted me on Facebook after reading my journal on the Echo.
She is a founding member of a group called Shine. They are a cancer support group for people in their 20s, 30s and 40s. They focus more on the social side of support. I’m meeting her on Monday for a coffee and chat to find out more about Shine.
It sounds like it could be really good for me.
I’ve not had anything to do with anyone else with cancer, by the way of support anyway.
I have thought about a support group in the past but just imagine older people sitting in a circle competing for who is worst off.
I know that is a total stereotype and probably totally wrong but the image puts me off.
To be honest I’ve never met anyone almost close to my age in ward 10 so I’m probably not totally wrong.
Anyway this group sounds like it could be right up my street so fingers crossed for Monday please!
