August 4, 2009: Wow - I am over the £1,000 mark, I guess my 'begging' letter worked.
I am so pleased that I have been able to do something positive and make a difference.
I have decided to stop publishing my journal in the Echo.
I am overwhelmed by the support it has generated and I really hope it has given someone in a similar situation to me some comfort, however I just feel too exposed.
Knowing that all my friends know what I'm thinking and feeling about stuff, knowing that strangers know so much about me is really weird.
So...I've decided to end the journal here and just email Paula every few weeks with any updates or events that I think may be interesting/important to share.
One thing I will share here is the link to Shine, the support group I met with yesterday just as a plug for them! They are www.shinecancersupport.co.uk I would also like to thank everyone who has donated to this very worthwhile cause and for the support I have received.
Nikki is letting us publish this journal to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research. She's set a target of £1,000. To donate, click the logo below
