HEAVY snow and widespread icy roads have been forecast for Dorset and Hampshire on Tuesday night and through Wednesday.
The Met Office downgraded its severe weather warning at around 5pm on Tuesday for Dorset from "exceptionally heavy snow" to "heavy snow".
"The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advise on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads."
Hampshire still had a severe weather warning in place with a "high risk of an extreme weather event" and very heavy snowfall forecast. There was snow on the M27 and in the New Forest.
