CORFE CASTLE businessman Michael Turner, who was dramatically released from his Budapest jail cell four days ago, is due to jet back to the UK today.
Michael and former business partner Jason McGoldrick, who were extradited to Hungary in November, are believed to be boarding homeward flights this morning following four months behind bars.
Michael said: “It’s fantastic, absolutely fantastic. You had to concentrate on the next hour, the next day, rather than think of being there for months or even years.
“I was locked in a small room with two bunk beds and four people in a cell.”
The pair had spent four months, without charge, in prison, after voluntarily handing themselves over to the Hungarian authorities. They have been released on bail.
They have been accused of defrauding more than 100 people following the collapse of their Budapest-based marketing company in 2004. Both men have maintained their innocence.
