SOMEWHERE between Maximo Park's dramatic posturing and the old school craft of Trevor Horn's pop persona, The Buggles, lies the electrified heart of Boy Kill Boy.
All big choruses, cranked up enthusiasm and a neon sheen that's driving the kids wild again think of The Killers without their poncey Vegas trappings and holier-than-thou pronouncements.
So they're banging on the right door at the right moment which is good news for those who welcome a bit of craft with their (supposedly) cutting edge indie.
Singer Chris Peck gives it his all throughout, even on the folksy (golly!) trip of the album's obligatory hidden track, but is heard to best effect on the blazing fury of Ivy Parker or the guts 'n' guitar stomp of current single Suzie.
