A MAN who went out drinking with friends to celebrate his 21st birthday ended up being held against his will for three hours and forced into sexual acts, a court has heard.

Burly John Macey met his “very drunk” victim at Bournemouth nightclub Lava Ignite last summer, and when they left the Firvale Road premises in the early hours of the morning, invited him back to his flat to continue drinking.

Prosecutor Michael Butt told Bournemouth Crown Court that Macey offered to pay the cab fare of the victim’s friend before going off in a taxi with the victim and another man. The friend was so concerned that he rang the police. They contacted the victim, but he said he was all right.

The men arrived at Macey’s flat in Crescent Road, Bournemouth, just before 4am.

Mr Butt said the victim recalled being outside on the steps. By then, he had black eyes, bruises to his chest and neck and two chipped front teeth. “To this day he doesn’t know how he came by these injuries.”

Macey put his hand down the front of the victim’s trousers and manhandled him into the flat, where he was ordered to strip and lie on the bed before being forced to take part in sexual acts.

The slightly-built victim begged to be allowed to leave, but 6ft 5in 18 stone Macey refused to let him do so until 7am, warning him: “If you tell the police, I’ll find you.”

Mr Butt said the victim had been unable to talk to his family about what had happened or come to terms with the “intensely distressing experience”.

Macey, 30, admitted false imprisonment and causing a male to engage in sexual activity without his consent. The court heard that he had been jailed for four years and ordered to register as a sex offender for life at Chelmsford Crown Court in 2003 after forcing another male victim into sex acts.

Judge Mr Recorder Paul Garlick jailed Macey for an indeterminate period, telling him: “I am satisfied that you are a dangerous offender.”
