England’s World Cup dream is over – again! We lost 4-1 to Germany, we had a goal disallowed just before half time which would have taken us to the break at 2-2, we played badly but if we’d had that goal I really think things would have been different, they would have played the second half with more optimism and fire – however, they are paid enough, they should have been able to turn things around, they didn’t deserve to win.
Jay (my nephew) didn’t cope very well, bless him – he gets so passionate & just can’t control his emotions.
He had to go for a walk round the block to calm down. I do really feel for him and think that maybe if our players had a bit of his passion then maybe they would have gone further!
I feel a bit weird about it. I’m not a huge football fan but it did used to be a big part of my life before I had the girls and major tournaments have always meant a lot to Kev and I.
I have very happy memories of breakfast and lager in 2002 watching games in the pub at 7am! I love the hype and excitement and hope. It would have been so amazing to see England win and now that’s something that I’m never likely to experience.
