IT was a nailbiter. But the 25 members of the Christchurch-based musical performance group Swish just missed out being crowned Channel Five’s Don’t Stop Believing champions in the TV talent show last night.
The talented troupe – performing Robbie Williams favourites Angels and Let Me Entertain You, went head to head with rivals Dalediva after both battled their way through to the last two.
But the final decision for Dalediva was made by public phone vote.
The show was hosted by Emma Bunton, and the judges included Dorset’s Duncan James of Blue.
Before the final, Tina Smith of the Swish of the Curtain Theatre School told the Echo: “We didn’t think we stood a chance.
“I was very happy to get through.
“Everything is a bonus. We will give them a run for their money, but we need the public to vote for us.”
