PEOPLE in Bournemouth and Poole have scored their GP practices higher than the national average in several categories of the latest patient survey.

Sixty-one per cent said they were satisfied overall with their practice, compared with 54 per cent nationally. Leybourne Surgery in Bournemouth reached 84 per cent.

Eighty-two per cent of patients responding to the survey said they were able to see a GP fairly quickly, versus 79 per cent nationally.

Local practices matched the national average of 88 per cent for patients reporting being very happy that their views of how to deal with their health problem were being listened to by the GP or nurse they saw.

Lisa Harding, deputy director of primary care at NHS Bournemouth and Poole, said: “We are delighted that the services we fund and manage allow a positive patient experience. We are also very pleased to be maintaining high standards in the patient survey to continue to offer high standards for the people of Bournemouth and Poole.”
