INTERNATIONAL award-winning comedian and storyteller Patrick Monahan is bringing two hilarious shows to Lighthouse, Poole, on May 31, performing a separate show for children and adults in one day.
In the afternoon, Monahan presents Stand-up Stories & Tales For Kids Who Run Faster Than Snails – an energy packed and fun filled, brand new family show including a colourful mish-mash of stand-up, story-telling, music and movement.
Patrick’s rapport with children is heart-warming so expect lots of claps and giggles from the younger theatre-goers. He hugs Dads, squirts water pistols, and teaches kung-fu moves.
In the evening he presents his brand new show for 2011: ‘Patrick Monahan On Tour’.
His 2010 show ‘I Walked, I Danced, Iran’ was a huge success and sold out across the UK receiving four and five star reviews at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival.
Patrick, perhaps best known for his many TV appearances including The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (CBBC), Armstrong & Miller Show (BBC) and The Paul O’Grady Show (C4), is a much-loved anecdotal comedian with an Iranian mother and Irish dad.
In the past six years since Patrick started performing stand-up, he has had a meteoric rise up the comedy ladder from ‘open spot’ to headliner in an incredibly short length of time.
He is now a regular MC and headlining act at the top London and UK comedy clubs, including the prestigious Jongleurs circuit and the Comedy Store.
In addition, Patrick is in huge demand as a TV warm up comedian due to his clean, funny material.
