DO you know this man? Police have appealed for help in identifying him after eight bikes were stolen from railway stations across Dorset and Hampshire.
“We’ve made local inquiries into these incidents and, after viewing CCTV, we want to interview this man,” said Inspector Mick Morriss of the British Transport Police.
“We’ve followed up numerous leads and circulated the images in a bid to identify this man, but to no avail so far.
“If you think you can names this man, or are the man himself, we want to hear from you.”
The thefts started on February 8 with incidents in New Milton and Christchurch, followed by one in Southampton on March 3 and two in Bournemouth on March 17.
A further two bikes were stolen in Christchurch on March 21 and another from the same station four days later.
“Unfortunately cycles are a popular target for thieves but there are several steps people can take to ensure their bikes are adequately marked and secured,” added Insp Morriss.
He said cyclists should register and mark their bikes and should use solid locks to secure them.
And he added: “We will continue to work closely with South West Trains to proactively tackle cycle crime and passengers should report any suspicious activity to a member of staff or police.”
