ROOKIE Ben Williamson believes he can flourish with Cherries after revealing his desire to remain at Dean Court.

The striker was one of six out-of-contract players to meet with Cherries management duo Lee Bradbury and Steve Fletcher yesterday.

Williamson, who linked up with Cherries for a trial in January and signed a deal until the end of the season, has been offered a new one-year contract and is aiming to agree terms next week.

He told the Echo: “I have really enjoyed my time here.

“The club is doing quite well at the moment. We were unlucky not to reach the play-off final but have just got to look forward to next season now.

“I definitely want to stay here. I really like it down here.

“I think I have got a great opportunity to do well here and it is a good place to start my professional career.”

The Londoner, a product of the Glenn Hoddle Academy, has made four substitute appearances since arriving on the south coast.

He believes he can perform well under the guidance of former forward Bradbury and veteran striker Fletcher.

Williamson added: “They can pass on all the experience they have got.

“Fletch is always talking and always giving good information. I will just take it on board and improve as a player.”
