HERE’S a picture to melt your heart.

These four little Inuit dogs are the latest arrivals at the Heavy Horse Farm Park in Edmondsham, near Verwood.

The little cuties, which would traditionally be found on the snowy slopes of Canada and North America, are only four weeks old but they’re already attracting lots of attention.

Staff are calling three of the pups Dakota, Sky and Storm – but name suggestions are welcome for the fourth fluffball.

Owner Elaine Street, who took over around seven years ago, said: “The puppies were born here to mum Shadow.

“We’ve got six dogs already. They run free when the park is closed.

“Snow dogs come from North America and are working dogs that tend to pull sleds.

“We’re hoping to do demonstrations next season to show people that other animals as well as horses can pull you along.”

During the day the little family are in a display pen for visitors to stroke.

“They’re very, very sweet,” Elaine added. “They’re totally sociable and love being petted.

“Snow dogs can make lovely pets but they’re pack animals really and love each other’s company.”

From next weekend the puppies will be part of a Wild West event including tribal storytelling and arts and crafts activities.

As well as 25 rescued heavy horses, the 20 acre park is also home to Shetland ponies, donkeys, cunie cunie pigs and giant rabbits.

New this year are three baby alpacas, Benjy, Brierly and Barney.

“They’ve been with us a few weeks and have settled in amazingly well,” Elaine said. “They like all the attention from visitors.”
