THE line-up for the Isle of Wight Festival has now been confirmed and it looks set to be a vintage year for the three-day music event.
Forecasters say the good weather is set to continue but even if their predictions are wrong, rain couldn’t dampen enthusiasm for what is a dazzling line up of musicians.
London electro duo Chase and Status and Irish rapper Maverick Sabre were the final acts to be confirmed for the festival, which starts on June 10. They will play at the Big Top on Saturday night before Tom Jones and The British Pink Floyd Show.
The Manic Street Preachers, Imelda May and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will also be performing at the Big Top, while the Main Stage will host heavyweights in the form of the Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Kasabian.
The Courteeners and Kaiser Chiefs will support the Kings on Friday, while on Saturday afternoon Seasick Steve, Iggy and the Stooges, and Pulp will warm up for the Foos.
Liam Gallagher will be in the unusual position of providing support – his new band Beadie Eye will be warming up for Kasabian on the festival’s last day, along with The Script and Plan B.
Tickets are sold out (and swapping hands for inflated prices on the net) and ferry places are booking up fast – so act now or you could find yourself on the island for most of the summer.
