IF you’re looking for something fresh at the cinema this week you may be disappointed as two sequels and a reboot dominate the new releases.

The Hangover was the highest grossing film of 2009 following the adventures of a group of friends on alcohol and drug-fuelled stag do in Las Vegas.

As we all know, Hollywood loves a sequel, and The Hangover – Part II finds Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) Doug (Justin Bartha) and Alan (Zach Galifianakias) getting up to some serious mischief once again.

The location has moved from Sin City to Thailand as the friends head off for Stu’s traditional wedding ceremony to Lauren. Things go awry when they are asked to take care of Lauren’s 16-year-old brother Teddy and wake up in a Bangkok hotel after a night of excess to find Teddy missing.

CHILDREN’S comedy Diary of a Wimpy Kid hit our screens last summer and returns for a second instalment in Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules. Based on Jeff Kinney’s best-selling book, David Bowers’ sequel continues the trials of wisecracking youngster Greg Heffley (Zachery Gordon).

DIRECTOR Matthew Vaughn attempts to reboot the blockbusting X-Men franchise after Wolverine got a lukewarm reception, with action-packed prequel, X Men: First Class.

Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsher (Michael Fassbender) come to terms their powers and the repercussions of them, as they join forces with other superheroes to unite against Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon). Released on Wednesday.
