A GROUP of travellers has moved on to land by the A338 Wessex Way, between the rear of the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and the sewage treatment plant.
Around 12 caravans arrived soon after midday on Saturday.
A staff member at Playgolf Bournemouth said: “They are on a field just off from our driving range.
“There are about 12.
“We haven’t had any problems.”
Dorset Police said they had received no reports of incidents and that further action was initially a matter for the local authority.
“We are just keeping a check on them at the moment,” said a spokesman.
The land sits on the border of Christchurch and Bournemouth Councils. Both councils’ out of hours services, and that of Dorset County Council, yesterday said they had no information.
A hospital spokesman said the travellers had been on the same spot last year.
A traveller group of around 12 caravans was last month evicted from Ringwood’s Carvers recreation area and then later from Avon Heath Country Park.
