POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two motorcyclists and a car driver suffered serious injuries in three separate crashes on Dorset’s roads, within just 24 hours.

A 24-year-old Bournemouth man sustained serious injuries after a Kawasaki motorbike travelling northbound left the Holes Bay Road in Poole at 4.26 pm on Friday and struck a lamp post, opposite the Premier Inn hotel.

The casualty was taken to Poole Hospital where his condition is described as serious, but stable.

An 18-year-old local man suffered serious injuries after his silver Peugeot was in collision with a blue Saab travelling in the opposite direction on the B3078 between Wimborne and Horton at 12.27pm on Saturday.

He was airlifted to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester where his condition is described as stable.

Two occupants in the Saab; a local couple who are both 70 and a 57-year-old man from Ipswich were taken to Poole Hospital for treatment. Their condition is described as stable.

In the third crash a male motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, sustained serious injuries after his silver Yamaha bike was involved in a head-on collision with a red Peugeot on the B3351, between Corfe Castle and Studland, at 1.40pm on Saturday.

He was flown to Dorset County Hospital for treatment. Two occupants in the Peugeot; a 33-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man from the Suffolk area were shaken but did not require hospital treatment.
