AN elderly woman was taken to hospital after a fire in her bedroom at a Bournemouth nursing home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The woman, believed to be in her 80's, was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor burns to her arm and smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The fire at the home in Poole Road, had been extinguished by the time fire fighters arrived at the scene at 1am and is believed to have been started accidentally, by some clothing left on a Zimmer frame.
Fire fighters from Westbourne and Springbourne ventilated the property, as there was a large amount of smoke in the room.
