If you go down to the woods on Saturday, July 2 you’re sure of a big surprise, for Holtwood Methodist Summer Fete will have a wide variety of scarecrows waiting for you. It’s rumoured that one of the home-grown scarecrows resembles Church Minister the Rev Ralph Ward!

Starting at noon with a barbecue, the fete will be opened by Rev Ward at 12.30pm, which will be one of his final duties before leaving Holtwood later in the summer to go to Devon.

Musical entertainment will include singers Peter Aston, Pete & Sarah Emberley with Sharon Pearcy and dancing to the Dotty Crotchets Ceilidh Band.
