AUTHORITIES in Dorset have teamed up to highlight how easy it is to recycle aerosols.
As part of Recycle Now Week, Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset councils say that residents might not be aware that aerosols such as cleaning goods, beauty products and other household items can all go into kerbside recycling bins.
Events are being held this week to get the message across.
On Monday, Bournemouth’s recycling team was at Pier Approach, while on Thursday, Poole’s recycling representatives will be in the High Street from 10am to 4pm.
There are also events in Christchurch, Dorchester and Weymouth.
The awareness campaign is being funded by the Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation’s Aerofoil campaign.
The chairman of the Dorset Waste Partnership, Hilary Cox, added: “Aluminium and steel used in these containers can be recycled endlessly without losing quality. It’s a really effective way for households to help reduce carbon emissions, cut costs and save energy.”
