JUST weeks after postponing their Bournemouth concert, pop legends Duran Duran have announced that they will perform in the resort in December.

The band cancelled their date at the BIC in May after lead singer Simon Le Bon suffered from an acute case of laryngitis and was advised to rest his voice.

Le Bon said at the time he was “devastated” that the All You Need Is Now tour would not be able to resume at the BIC after shows in London and Brighton were axed.

Disappointed fans were told to hold on to their tickets and yesterday they were celebrating after the band announced that all 11 concert dates had been rescheduled.

Duran Duran will perform at the BIC on Thursday, December 1, in what is promised to be “an even bigger celebration” of the band’s new album and 30-year history.

The pre-Christmas Bournemouth bash will be “a totally new and spectacular production” forming part of the band’s first full UK arena tour in seven years.

Bassist John Taylor told the Daily Echo: “Given the fact that we’d missed the dates in May we wanted to do something really special for our fans pre-Christmas.

“It’s an incredibly busy time of year but finally we’ve been able to make it work and can’t wait to get there.” Tickets cost £30.
