THOUSANDS turned out to enjoy Winton Carnival on Saturday with floats, marchers and live music adding to the party atmosphere.
Families lined the streets as the colourful procession, led by Bournemouth Carnival Band, made its way along Wimborne Road, ending up at the Winton recreation ground.
Revellers included Winton Community Forum chairman Anson Westbrook who told the Daily Echo: “There was a really good turn-out.
“This is our sixth annual carnival and it just keeps getting bigger and better.
“Few people realise it but Winton carnival has become so popular it is the second biggest festival in Bournemouth, behind the air show.”
He added: “There was something for all ages and up to 5,000 people in the recreation ground before the music even started.”
He thanked all those who had supported the community event.
