FLORAL tributes have been laid at the site of a fatal crash which claimed the life of a young Poole motorcyclist.
The biker, named locally as 24-year-old Richard Blair, was pronounced dead at Poole Hospital following the early morning collision in Wareham.
Mr Blair, believed to be a former pupil of The Purbeck School, Wareham, was riding his blue Kawasaki 125cc along Sandford Road, just off the Wareham bypass, when he was in collision with a parked car.
The fatal accident happened around 2am on Saturday morning.
His family have been informed and Dorset Police have urged any witnesses to come forward One roadside tribute, from Auntie Grace, Annette and family, simply reads: “You will be sadly missed.”
Another read: “I love you lots man. Wish you was still ringing and texting me from work.
“We had some good times. You will never be forgotten. It was more than a pleasure to have been your mate. Love you M8, Darryl.”
Mr Blair’s motorcycle was in collision with a parked and unattended Volkswagen Polo in the residential road.
After the Daily Echo broke the news of the accident, Wareham councillor Eric Osmond said: “These are tragic circumstances. I feel for the parents and those who are left behind. At that age it’s terrible.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, or anyone who saw the motorcyclist before the crash, to come forward.
The coroner has been informed and an inquest is due to be opened and adjourned in the coming days.
