DISAPPOINTED Paul Simon fans have been urged to seek a refund after the folk-legend’s promoters announced that they would not be rescheduling the event.
The sell-out gig in Bournemouth was cancelled just an hour before it was due to start on Monday night.
Organisers at the Bournemouth International Centre had hoped to negotiate a date to reschedule the folk-legend, who was said to be “horribly disappointed” when a nagging throat infection forced him to cancel performance.
But yesterday (Tuesday June 28) Simon’s promoters announced that the 69-year-old needed to “rest his voice” and as a result the decision had been made to cancel the Bournemouth show.
The singer-songwriter, who is on a six-month tour to promote his new album So Beautiful Or So What, last performed in Bournemouth at the BIC five-years-ago to rave reviews.
He played at Glastonbury Festival at the weekend (June 26), after explaining to fans, prior to starting the performance, that he was suffering from a throat infection.
