RESIDENTS at a Poole care home had very good reason to cheer at the opening of a new shop.
The wooden store, which has been built in their Mitchell House care home, has been given the name Treats and Sweets.
Poole’s town crier David Squires helped 92-year-old resident Win Beyer open the shop at the Canford Heath home.
Louise Ceasar, of Care UK, said: “We built the wooden shop in our care home after consultation with residents’ families and service users.”
She explained that it is hoped that the store will “help fulfil the lives of residents who will be encouraged to serve in the shop and to keep books as part of their activities.”
