DAVID Devine combined his love for aviation with a special proposal for a very special lady.
The 30-year-old from Branksome, Poole, organised a surprise flight on Friday evening to pop the question to his girlfriend Natasha White, 25.
Earlier in the day, David had helped his father Bill paint the proposal “Marry me” on the football pitch at Chapel Gate near Bournemouth Airport ready for the moment the helicopter flew over.
David and Natasha met at Portfield School in Hurn when they worked for the Wessex Autistic Society.
Speaking about his romantic gesture, David said: “With all the doom and gloom around at the moment I thought I would be nice to do something really special.
“My dad’s the groundskeeper at Bournemouth Sports Club and I have a passion for aviation so I mixed the two and that’s what I came up with.”
And it all went to plan – Natasha said yes.
