MANAGER Lee Bradbury believes the prospect of facing Danny Hollands and Rhoys Wiggins will provide an extra incentive for Cherries – with friendships set to be put on hold at the Valley.
Cherries are likely to lock horns with Dean Court old boys when they visit Charlton Athletic tomorrow for the start of the League One season (3pm).
The duo moved to the capital during the summer as part of a recruitment drive that saw the Addicks invest heavily in their squad.
Free agent Hollands joined Charlton at the end of his contract, while wantaway defender Wiggins was sold for an undisclosed fee.
Bradbury said: “I always used to love playing against friends in the game because for those 90 minutes, there were no friends.
“You probably want to win a little bit more, if that is possible, and get one over your mate. I’m sure that will be no different for our lads.
“I’m sure there won’t be any friends for the 90 minutes, and after the game they will shake hands and have a chat about it.
“I played against some of my best friends – centre-halves that marked me when I was playing up front.
“You give each other a really hard time and then afterwards you shake hands, have a drink and talk about it.”
