IF YOU follow the Pride In Bournemouth trail today, you might be left scratching your head.
For two of the lions are absent, having left their stands temporarily to be repaired after they were damaged.
Lion number 15, sponsored by Heart FM, located by Pine Walk Art Gallery, with bright red body and white mane, has been taken away.
The lion sponsored by Caron Khan Media, number 21, which is pale yellow with coloured shells painted on it, which should be based at Shelley Park, is also currently being repaired.
But children and families on holiday will still think it’s the mane event as they are able to hunt for the other 48 decorated lions dotted around Bournemouth.
It is currently unknown how the lions came to be damaged but the good news is that they shall be returning.
A spokesman for Pride In Bournemouth, said: “We have had damage to the lion in location 21, as well as the lion in location 15. They have been taken back to the Lions’ Den at the moment, where they are currently under repair.
“They just need a bit of TLC to fix them. But they will be returning back to their places in time for Bournemouth Air Festival.”
