SHELLY lion is back on the prowl after being bandaged up by kind-hearted nurses at a Boscombe medical centre.
Shelly, part of the Pride in Bournemouth lion trail, was removed from his stand in Shelley Park last week after vandals damaged his jaw.
Pride in Bournemouth organisers said the eye-catching lion is now in pride of place in the medical centre in Boscombe.
Caron Khan, Pride in Bournemouth project manager and sponsor of Shelly said: “I’m really pleased Shelly is being very well looked after by the medical centre.
“People are very welcome to go and visit Shelly in the foyer and continue the trail of all of our lions.”
Shelly’s design was inspired by childhood memories of collecting seashells on the beach during the summer holidays.
Talented artists spent hours decorating the 50 life-size lions, sponsored by local businesses, which have been placed around the town to raise money for Julia’s House and the Born Free Foundation.
