FOUR people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man’s body was found in a field near Semley.

Police were called in just before 6pm on Saturday after a body of a man, believed to be 43, was found in a remote location.

The identity of the man is known but formal identification has yet to be completed and officers are still trying to contact next of kin.

The cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

Three men aged in their forties and a woman aged 25 were arrested on suspicion of murder late last night and remain in custody at Salisbury Police Station.

DCI Ian Saunders of Salisbury Police said: “We are treating this man’s death as suspicious and have launched a murder inquiry with a team of detectives.

“Officers are conducting house to house inquiries in the area and our crime scene investigation specialists have been working over the weekend in a number of separate locations.”

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of The Marshes, Marshes Farm and Semley between 8.45am on Friday, October, 14 and 12.30pm on Saturday, October 15.

The Semley community may notice increased police activity in the area as the officers conduct their investigations. Anyone with concerns can contact local Inspector Lindsey Winter on 101.
