BOURNEMOUTH has had heavy snow, an Indian summer and floods in the last year. Now stand by for the town to be hit by a hurricane.

Globe-trotting grappling star ‘Hurricane’ John Walters is set to top the bill when he makes his Bournemouth debut on Sunday afternoon’s Wrestling Spectacular at the Pavilion.

The grappler first made his name when he defeated current American TNA superstar Doug Williams to win the Ring of Honor Pure Championship and is now the reigning Lucha Libre USA champion. Walters is one of the biggest names to appear at the Pavilion in recent times.

In between, he has wrestled for the WWE, made two high-impact tours of Japan, held the Big Time heavyweight championship in the States.

Bournemouth promoters and matchmakers Premier Promotions, whose shows have been thrilling fans for 25 years, have lined up one of British wrestling’s biggest talents, Joel Redman, the PWF international champion, to take on Walters in Sunday’s main event.

Redman is a big favourite with the Pavilion fans, having beat The Zulu Prince to retain the international title on his last appearance in August and he is the current holder of the prestigious Ken Joyce Trophy, which he won in the Pavilion ring last year.

Among the other stars in action on the big half-term spectacular will be ‘Wonder Kid’ Jonny Storm, who was last here six shows ago, The UK Dominator and popular local wrestler Jay Knox.

The line-up will also include two more international stars who will be making their Bournemouth debuts, Spanish high-flyer Eddie Reyes, who has just completed a triumphant American tour, and Behnam Ali, from Iran.

Sunday’s show is the last in Bournemouth before Christmas and tickets are available from the box office, telephone 0844 576 3000, or via the Bournemouth pavilion website www.bic.co.uk
